Elevate your workouts with CBD & CBG

CBD Pre or Post Workout

CBD, or cannabidiol, is everywhere these days. From street corner signs to dinner conversations, it’s rise in popularity has spread like wildfire. CBD is available in any form you can think of, including topicals, gummies, tinctures or even your favorite cocktail!

Ingestible forms of CBD are typically used for overall wellness and pain management. Studies have shown that CBD may reduce chronic pain by working through the endocannabinoid system (ECS)*. The endocannabinoid system is a biological system found in our bodies that processes CBD, CBG or any other cannabinoid found in hemp.

CBD Sticks

CBD topicals and CBD Sticks are a great way to target specific joints and muscles experiencing fatigue or soreness. While ingestible forms of CBD are a great option for overall wellness, topicals would be the way to go for a targeted approach. This helps your joints and muscles get the most out of your CBD!

Aside from CBD, did you know that there are other cannabinoids found in hemp that can help with inflammation and pain? It’s important to understand that while CBD is one amazing cannabinoid, there are over 100 cannabinoids found in hemp, each showing varying effects. CBG is one cannabinoid that's being studied more and more, but what is CBG?

CBG Benefits

CBG, or cannabigerol, is another cannabinoid found in hemp. CBG has been used as an anti-inflammatory and pain reducer. CBG topicals or a CBG stick are quickly becoming a popular option for athletes and weekend warriors seeking natural workout supplements that do not need to be ingested and target specific parts of the body that are experiencing pain or soreness. A CBD stick is an easily applied topical that twists out like a deodorant stick and applies without the mess.

At Relm, we designed our topicals to incorporate high concentrations of CBD, CBG and pure essential oils as our primary ingredients, so that you get the most out of our topicals. All three of these primary ingredients have shown amazing benefits in regard to inflammation and pain control. CBD for pain and CBG for pain are common searches in Google these days and for good reason.

Growing up, I played every sport I could, including football, soccer, ski racing, basketball and rugby. These sports, however, took a toll on my body. Needless to say, I experience joint and muscle pain on a regular basis, making my workouts an uphill battle.

When I introduced CBD and CBG topicals into my workout routine, I paid close attention to its effectiveness in battling my chronic joint pain and sore muscles. CBD and CBG topicals work best when used on a consistent basis. Often, the soreness you had been noticing before doesn’t bother you anymore and you simply go about your day or workout without restriction. It’s typically the second use of CBD and CBG topicals that cement their value as your new favorite workout companion.

CBD Workout Routine

I have found that this regimen typically works best for me:

  • CBD Pre-workout (10 - 15 minutes before workout):
    • I apply either the Active Stick or Active Body Butter to any joint or muscle experiencing tightness that I know will hinder my workout.
      • Frankincense essential oil used in these products has been shown to work as an anti-inflammatory and help open up nasal passages and airways.

  • CBD Post-workout:
    • I use the Recovery Stick or Recovery Body Butter. Pro tip: apply after a shower to open up pores and maximize benefits.
      • Arnica essential oil helps boost circulation to speed recovery from strenuous workouts.

  • Nighttime:
    • At night, I prefer to use the Calm Stick or Calm Body Butter.
      • Using CBD and CBG topicals at bedtime help continue the recovery process. The lavender essential oil offers a calming effect that promotes a peaceful night’s sleep.

While CBD and CBG topicals are not a cure, when used properly, they can make a big impact on our overall health. They can help us to feel ready to take on the day instead of allowing aches and pains negatively impact our lives.
