What is CBG?

CBG (cannabigerol) is a cannabinoid phytocannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant. It is the precursor to other cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, and is believed to have a number of potential medicinal properties. Some studies have suggested that CBG may have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective effects. It may also have the ability to modulate the psychoactive effects of THC, making it potentially useful in the treatment of conditions such as anxiety and psychosis.

 

What is CBG used for?

CBG, similar to CBD, can be infused into any topical or taken orally in a tincture or drink. 

One study published in the journal "Pharmacology" found that CBG applied topically reduced inflammation and pain in a mouse model of inflammatory skin disease. Another study published in the "Journal of Dermatological Science" found that a topical formulation containing CBG and CBD was effective at reducing inflammation and improving the appearance of skin in a mouse model of dermatitis.
